Café Beirut Ausstellungsprojekt

Unter dem Titel Café Beirut legt die Griesbadgalerie in Ulm für 3 Monate den Fokus auf zeitgenössische Kunst aus dem Nahen Osten. Neben 4 Ausstellungen finden Aktionen im öffentlichen Raum und Veranstaltungen wie Lesungen, Vorträge oder Filmvorführungen statt. Das Café Beirut ist von 25. Mai bis 30 August in einem leeren Ladenlokal (Gideon-Bacher-Straße3, Ulm) installiert. Dieser funktioniert als Ausstellungsraum, Treffpunkt und Zentrale des Projekts.
Under the title Café Beirut Griesbadgalerie sets a focus on contemporary art from the Middle East for a period of 3 Months. Next to 4 exhibitions there will be actions in public space, lectures, readings, Movies etc. Café Beirut is located in an empty store space in Gideon-Bacher-Straße 3, Ulm from 25th May to 30th August. The location serves as exhibition space, meeting point and base for the project.
Le Collectif Gémeaux – Disorders in Beirut

Das Café Beirut eröffnet am Mi. 25. Mai um 19 Uhr mit einer Ausstellung der Gruppe le Collectif Gémeaux aus Beirut. Le Collectif Gemeaux besteht aus der Comic-Autorin Michèle Standjofski, der Psychologin Laura-Joy Boulos und der Fotografin Myriam Boulos. Die drei Frauen im Alter zwischen 55 und 23 stammen aus Beirut. Zusammen haben sie mit Disorder(s) in Beirut ein interdisziplinäres Projekt erarbeitet, das sich auf sehr spezielle Weise dem Leben auf den Straßen der Stadt annähert. So entstehen Szenen aus dem Alltag – fotografisch festgehalten zeichnerisch überarbeitet und psychologisch kommentiert.
Café Beirut opens on We. 25th May, 7 pm with an exhibition of the group Le Collectif Gémeaux. The Group consists of the cartoonist Michèle Standjofski, the psychologist Laura-Joy Boulos and the photographer Myriam Boulos. The 3 women aged between 55 and 23 hail from Beirut. Together they created an interdisciplinary project called Disorder(s) in Beirut. With a unique approach they track down the city and the life that takes place in its streets. The result are scenes from everyday life – captured in photography, reedited with drawing and commented from a psychological perspective.
